A V Thomas & Co., headquartered in Chennai, wanted a central corporate office in Kerala because several of their businesses are driven by agriculture in the state – tea, coffee, spices, rubber, etc. The chairman was also very open to doing a green-centric building. While not very large, it was designed to work on solar, and to have large amounts of plants outside the glazed sides of the building – both to promote human psychological well-being as well as to cut down on the ambient heat load.
