A 1.2 acre site at Manakkakadavu, Kakkanad provided an incredible setting for this cliff top residence. The house is revealed gradually, first appearing as a glass box nestled within landscaped berms and then emerging through the water bodies and courts that define the entrance. The house is split across three levels- each overlooking the cliff, and the views beyond. Each level has been designed to create a unique connection with nature to fulfil our client’s requirement of ample indoor-outdoor spill-over spaces. These connections materialize as internal courtyards, stepped landscapes, water cascades and an infinity edge pool at the lower level, and as green roofs and large decks on the upper levels. Solar panels were integrated into the design, doubling up as deep overhangs that provide shade to the residence.
